About

My practice is in film and video and my interest is in representing place and personal memory through narrative. I am also interested in stories about women and exploring notions of a feminist aesthetic in film and how this might be identified in both form and content. My work sits in a place between narrative film and artists film and is distributed by the British Council to film festivals.

I am interested in looking for the overlooked. This can take the form of stories, memories, working processes, atmosphere, sounds, traces that are an intrinsic part of a place but not always visible. My work focuses on small worlds that communicate complex, family based issues. The work often shows small fragments of a bigger story – a sense of intrigue by not quite exposing the full extent of the situation or story. Each of my films has used locations that resonate with particular emotions.
